Under the 2024 Africa Cinema Summit, the National Film Authority in Partnership with The Nile Group and Silverbird Cinemas is pleased to announce the opening of applications for Deal Room Pitch.

Africa Cinema Summit (ACS) is where cinema stakeholders meet on the African continent to discuss and find solutions to existing gaps, create opportunities for filmmakers and film business, impact the needed insight into critical skills and developing dynamics, and create cinema business opportunities pertinent to the film sector in Africa. ACS Summit is result-oriented and is skewed towards creating a compelling and conducive avenue for filmmakers and businesses within the film value chain to interact, network, foster partnerships, generate leads, and possibly close deals during the event and after.

Purpose of the Deal Room

🔹Secure funding from local and international investors.
🔹Facilitate Partnerships: Encourage collaborations between cinema operators, film entrepreneurs, producers, studios, exhibitors among others.
🔹Promote Sustainable Development: Support cinema businesses that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have a positive impact on society and the environment.

Eligibility

🔹Applicants must be entities or individuals actively involved in the cinema industry value chain across Africa including, Filmmakers, Film production and Distribution companies, Technology providers for cinema, Cinema Design and Construction and Data analytics and research firms providing insights on box office trends, audience preferences, market analysis etc.
🔹Applicants must demonstrate a viable business model or project that requires funding, such as cinema expansion, film production, distribution initiatives, technological innovation, or infrastructure development.
🔹Applicants should be able to present a detailed business plan or project proposal, including financial projections, market analysis, and potential impact on the African cinema landscape.
